Space Planning
A dialogue between the client and Shelley Starr initiates the furniture plan and solidifies the smooth transition from room to room. Shelley Starr develops a furniture plan that responds to the interior architecture of the project while meeting the client’s individual programming needs. Then she examines the volume of the space in terms of balance, proportion and scale while analyzing space planning and sequence. The dimension of each object is studied within the space in both plan and elevation so the client is able to visualize and understand how each room will ultimately come together. At this point, lighting, electric and data plans are considered to develop a thoughtful and comprehensive furniture plan. The furniture plan leads to the development of a product sourcing schedule, product budget, and ultimately installation.
